LAWS OF CONFRONTATION

We are involved in a confrontation with the evil one. As we get involved with spiritual warfare, we must be conscious of the fact that there are laws of confrontation to adhere to. Mastery over these laws will grant us A resounding victory. Conversely, ignorance of these laws will earn defeat, failure and untold suffering from the hands of the wicked one.

In the military people receive strenuous training in discipline and operate under stringent laws which they must obey or get fired. Laws of confrontation would guide the Christian in spiritual soldering.

A well-trained spiritual solider, who adheres to the rules of the game, will experience victory during every spiritual battle. There are set rules for spiritual warfare. These laws are respected in heaven, on earth and in hell. Those who break the laws are losers, while those who keep them are winners. Many people have lost out in life’s battles as a result of negligence of these rules. Those who adhere to scriptural principles will get scriptural results. What you sow is what you reap.

If you take steps that are in accordance with the laws of spiritual warfare, you will achieve corresponding results. Therefore, you must make up your mind to learn and apply the laws of confrontation.

WHY CONFRONTATION?

You may ask, Why confrontation?

Whichever way you look at it, everyone is involved in one confrontation or the other. The devil is not your friend; he is your enemy. He hates you with perfect hatred. He is hell-bent on depriving you of every good spiritual benefit. That is why he is confronting you on all fronts.

What is the purpose of confrontation, dominion or conquest? You confront to conquer. You fight to dominate or conquer. Since you know that the devil is out

to confront you, you must also vow to give him a tough fight. You must match him fm for fire, battle for battle and bullet for bullet. If the devil will not allow you rest, you too must give him no rest. If he is going to collide with you, you too must confront him.

Confrontation is characterised by force. It is no task carried out by gentlemen, or jelly-fish Christians. Demons and other agents are stubborn and recalcitrant. It takes force to confront them.

LAWS OF CONFRONTATION

Just as spiritual confrontation is desirable there are laws that govern it. In handling this important topic, we shall be guided by Matthew 11:12, which says:

And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.

There is a war going on between the forces of good and forces of darkness in the life of every child of God. We must come to grips with this fact. The devil is at the mot of every problem bedevilling mankind today. We have a mission: to confront the oppressor. However, we must never forget that the oppressor does not grant freedom – it must be demanded by the oppressed, and backed up with force. we must forcefully snatch the captive of his grip.

No wonder the Bible says, “. . . the kingdom of God suffereth violence and the violent people, after they have received the anointing to be violent, will need to violently take it again.” This means we can afford to be violent, but take no action. In other words, when we become violent in the spirit we can then take what belongs to us.

The devil does not grant freedom. As far as he is concerned, there is nothing called liberty.

The Bible says:

Isaiah 14:16-17: They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms; ¹²That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners?

In the last part of the above passage, God addresses satan as one who does not open his prison gates for his prisoners to set them free. So if there is ever a prison yard whose gates would never be opened by its prison master for its inmates to go out, what other option have the captives got than violence?

To be an overcomer we have to enter into the fight, for the Bible says: “For this cause was the Son of God made manifest that he might destroy the works of the devil.”

Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil. This means that you as a child of God have to go to war and destroy the works of the enemy in your life, environment, business, family. War is never a pleasant experience. It leaves death, pains, sorrow and loss in its trail. Wherever there is any serious physical war, loved ones are oftentimes separated, and holidays are forgotten. During wars survival becomes the primary concern of everyone, and not enjoyment.

Because of the pains and agonies that characterise wars, reasonable people refrain from going to war unless it becomes unavoidable. In the same vein, no sensible human being prefers war to peace. But, in the spiritual realm, the situation is completely different. Here, you have no option but to fight. You either fight or you perish. When people choose to remain complacent, as if nothing is amiss, there is always a war going on. This is the lamentation of the prophet, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.”

Sometimes, for you to get ahead there is no option but to war. Most of the time, peace-loving people have no option but to fight to retain peace. That is why it is said: “When there is no war there is no peace.”

The peace, joy and rest that many people clamour for will be impossible without warfare and confrontation. The Lord is calling for aggressive confronters who are ready to face the battle and are not easily discouraged, those who are not chicken-hearted and who can exercise spiritual violence, those who will never give up. God is looking for confronters to spite the blood of the enemy and kill the giants.

All the aggressive men in the Bible were terrible confronters. First, let us look at Moses in Exodus 10:28,

And Pharaoh said unto him, Get thee from me, take heed to thyself, see my

face no more; for in that day thou seest my face thou shalt die.

This was powerful Pharaoh talking to Moses. After he said this, he probably expected Moses to run out of the place. But Moses remained unshaken but instead said.

Verse 29: And Moses said, Thou hast spoken well, I will see thy face again no more.

And so shall it be with you also. You shall see the face of your Pharaoh no more.

The encounter with Moses was a spiritual violence, which Pharaoh id not understand. Moses was a confronter. It came to a point in his life when he had to wrest the kingdom of Egypt from the hand of Pharaoh and became the king. Thereafter, wherever he went to the land of Egypt, people respected him, as his word became law.

With just a tiny rod in his hand, Moses controlled the whole of Egypt. So shall it be with you, in Jesus’ name. With the rod of faith in your hand, you shall control your circumstances.

In 1Kings 18: 17-18, we read of Elijah:

And it came to pass, when Ahab saw Elijah. that Ahab said unto him, Art thou he that troubleth Israel? ¹⁸And he answered, I have not troubled Israel; but thou, and &y father’s house, in that ye have forsaken the commandments of the LORD, and thou hast followed Baalim.

Here was Elijah, another confronter, confronting king Ahab. And in I Kings 21:20-21 Elijah is again at it:

And Ahab said to Elijah. Hast thou found me. O mine enemy? And he answered, I have found thee: because thou hast sold thyself to work evil in the sight of the LORD. ²¹Behold, I will bring evil upon thee, and will take away thy posterity, and will cut off from Ahab him that pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut up and left in Israel.

Elijah went on talking to the king in such harsh tone; then, in verse 23, he turns to the king’s wife and says:

And of Jezebel also spake the LORD, saying, The dogs shall eat Jezebel by the wall of Jezreel.

These were terrible words said by Elijah to the king.

Next, we have Elisha who was also a confronter of kings, as detailed in II Kings3.

Also, David confronted Goliath.

We also have Peter who confronted Simon the sorcerer and told him: “Your money perish with you.”

Paul was also a confronter. Acts 13:8-11 says:

But Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation) withstood them, seeking to turn away the deputy from the faith. ⁹Then Saul. (who also is called Paul,) filled with the Holy Ghost, set his eyes on him, ¹⁰And said, O full of all subtilty and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord? ¹¹And now, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon thee, and thou shalt be blind, not seeing the sun for a season. And immediately there fell on him a mist and a darkness; and he went about seeking some to lead him by the hand.

God is not looking for coward soldiers. Daniel, Shadrach and Abednego were all confronters. As a confronter, your intelligence, height, colour or shape is immaterial. In fact, if you are the biggest giant in the world the devil would not care. He is not a kind being and we also have no business being kind to him, for we are at war with his evil kingdom.

God wants confronters who will always be prepared to take the battle to the enemy. It is amazing that so many Christians are so scared.

At a revival programme some time ago, as an altar call was made a lot of people came forward to confess they were witches. The preacher prayed and commanded birds of witches and wizards to depart. Rather than depart the birds retorted, “No, we aren’t going nowhere.” This made the man of God angry, When he ordered them dead, trouble began; people began to vomit dead birds. This was spiritual violence.

But can a believer really get angry? Yes, but essentially with the devil. Gone are the days when satanic agents despatched against believers were allowed to go scot-free. The appropriate thing is for such agents to be ordered back to their senders. A chicken-hearted Christian can hardly be able to do this. Rather, he is more likely to get frightened into seeking refuge and help from wherever he can get it.

Many years back, a demon was despatched against someone close to an acquaintance of mine. The man said that as he prayed in his bed, the demon idol came in without knocking at the door. It called the man’s third name, which the man was rarely called by, and hit him with a stick on the right arm and the arm went limp.

The man made desperate attempts at saving himself by reciting some prayers he had learnt from his Christian neighbours. This was a fruitless effort. The demon idol went away and returned not long after to attack our friend again.

If violence had been applied at the first instance the enemy would not have had any chance to return. While conventional church-goers are busy proclaiming that their blood is bitter, the violent ones hardly have the time to make such puerile utterances. Demon spirits are never interested in knowing whether your blood is sweet or bitter, all they want to do is to suck you dry of life.

A confronter should command the earth to swallow up demons. While the chicken-hearted Christian reads ten Psalms before going to bed, the violent Christian commands the angels of fire to surround his house. Certainly, the days of soft prayers against the devil are over. The Bible says: “The devil is come against us in great wrath.” This is because he knows that he has a short time. So, when Mountain of Fire and Miracles Church members are asked to pray violently, there is always a reason, which is: to enable them to violently possess their possessions.

Sometime ago, three people were sent to disrupt a crusade. One of them had a charm he was to use on the preacher. When they got to the crusade ground, they sat at the back. As people sang choruses, the one with the charm began to operate. Consequently, all lights went off, the microphone stopped working; the whole arena was thrown into confusion.

At this point, the preacher asked the crowd to rise up in aggressive prayer

against members of the world whom he said had got on to the arena.

Specifically, the prayer was for the evil doers to get frozen on the spot.

Immediately, the crowd roared into aggressive prayer.

At the heat of it two men were seen fleeing from the crusade ground, remaining the one with the charm. When he put his hand into his pocket to remove the charm, the hand got stuck. Then the light returned and the crusade continued. Apparently, the frozen man was quite intelligent. He must have reasoned that if he should run away like his colleagues, his hand would remain stuck in his pocket forever. So with his hand still stuck in his pocket he walked up to the stage to confess his destructive mission and requested the pastors to pray for his deliverance. The man got born again on the spot.

Confrontation is necessary so the forces that follow believers all over the place, struggling to block their miracles, would be roasted to death in the name of Jesus.

There is a warning to believers: The longer you remain in sin the more the problems in your life will multiply and become complex. The longer you stay in darkness the more the enemy will amputate your life, And once he realises that your escape from darkness is imminent, he will seek to put a permanent mark on your life. So, the earlier you run out to the light, the better for you.

God is depending on believers to become the idol breakers in their families, but if you refuse to be a breaker of idols you are not going to find things easy. Do you know that evil forces sometimes disagree among themselves and attack one another? It is within the power of confronters by speaking the word to throw such chaos into the camp of the enemy and make them fight one another.

God ordered confusion on the Tower of Babel. Likewise, His children can order confusion into the camp of evil forces. God’s call is to such confronters. If you can become one, you only need to give God the opportunity to prove Himself in your life. But you must know that nothing will work for you until you give Him a trial. Never doubt whatever God has given to you until you have tried it. The trouble with most people is that they have rather sharp tongues and are always quick to criticise while they are never able to do the same in the spirit. Sharp tongue in the physical world can hardly be transferred into the spirit.

Violence is allowed in the spiritual world but we are not allowed to be physically violent, to the level of beating people up.

A long time ago a woman attended one of our services. In the midst of prayers she cried that her body was on fire, that she wanted to go home and remove the juju with which she had charmed her sister. She eventually ran out of the church. Only violent prayers made this possible, and not soft, ineffectual pleadings to evil forces to break their hold.

Things must change in your life after reading this book. God is waiting for you to move and the host of heaven will move with you. A man of God once went preaching in an area. Initially no one attended his church, until the Lord opened his eyes and he saw that there was a demon at the door sending people away. He got angry and challenged the spirit to get away; then a big confrontation began between him and the demon which was determined never to shift any ground to the preacher. But the man of God prevailed after aggressive prayer.

WHAT ARE THE LAWS GOVERNING

CONFRONTATIONS?

CONFRONTATION MUST HAVE A PURPOSE. We don’t just go into confrontation without a purpose. Spiritual confrontation must have a purpose. For instance, after you have reviewed your life and found that, for all your years of existence you have no tangible achievement, you are justified to confront the oppressor.

Or, as a wife, you have been through thick and thin with your husband and have seen him move from rag to riches only for him to turn round and discard you for a more beautiful lady. You will be justified to get confrontational spiritually.

YOU MUST RECEIVE PROPER INSTRUCTIONS. You do not, start confronting without information.

YOU MUST CARRY OUT THOROUGH SELF-EXAMINATION. By this, the enemy will not find any loophole in your life. Jesus said, “The Prince of this world came to me and they found nothing in me.”

BE ADEQUATELY PREPARED. This may entail fasting.

YOU MUST POSSESS STUBBORN FAITH.

YOU MUST ISSUE AGGRESSIVE CHALLENGE.

DO NOT TOUCH ANY UNCLEAN THING IN THE CAMP OF THE ENEMY.

There was this brother who was a motor park worker before he got born again. He was quite muscular. When he got to our church he applied to be a security man and was employed. After a night prayer meeting, there was a girl of about seven who sat glued to her seat long after everyone had gone home. Initially the security man thought she was waiting for her parents and allowed her to sit. But when it was almost midnight, the security man accosted her and demanded to know her mission. The girl did not reply.

After several unreplied questions, the man asked her to leave the church. The girl simply remained unmoved. Feeling affronted, the man went for a thick wire with which he began to beat the girl. At a point she caught the wire, broke it into pieces and threw it at the man. Amazed, the muscular man began to push the girl off the pew but was unable to move her however hard he struggled.

Out of desperation, he pulled off the scarf the girl had on her head and what he saw on her head threw him off balance. Instead of natural hair, the girl had a thick bush on her head. It was then that the man realised what he was up against. He got into prayers, reciting some popular Bible passages. Then the girl sluggishly got up and began to walk away. The security man followed her still reciting the Bible passages, and the girl kept moving away. At any point that the man stopped his prayer, the girl would stop. Once he resumed the prayer, the girl moved, until she went completely out of the church premises and the man locked the gates.

When he returned to the church, he found on the spot where the girl sat a brand new gold wristwatch. He picked it up, examined it for a while and put it in his pocket and went home. When he got home, he put the watch on his table and slept off. By the time he woke up the next day, the watch had disappeared. He felt pangs of pain in his head which seemed to grow harder and ran to his pastor for assistance.

This young man had taken an unclean thing from the camp of the enemy, and

broke the law of confrontation.

A brother with serious problems came to pray in our church one night. In the midst of an aggressive prayer an angel appeared before him and told him that he was under three curses: non-achievements, vagabondage and marital failure. He asked the angel what to do and the angel told him to change his prayers that the Lord should give him the knowledge of revelation and the anointing of the confronter.

The young man prayed until he found himself in the midst of witchcraft people holding a meeting. His name was number three on their agenda. He shouted at them, “Release me, and be disbanded.”

But the witches simply regarded him with disdain. When he intensified his prayer, the head of the witchcraft group got up and arrogantly told him they would not disband as there was a hole in his life. “Even if we disband,” the witch told him, “another group will move into your life and occupy that hole.”

The young man asked what sort of hole and the head of the witchcraft told him, “Anger and laxity in the opposite sex.” The young man also broke the law of confrontation.

It is expedient to observe the laws of confrontational prayers. The Bible says, “Fight the good fight of faith,” meaning that we have opposition. But why is it a good fight? It is because we know the winner. Somebody defeated the devil for us.

PRAYER POINTS

1. (Point one finger to the earth and say:) Every buried potential of mine, receive resurrection by the hand of fire, in the name of Jesus.

• Any blessing of mine stored in the second heaven, be released, in the name of Jesus.

• Let the sword of the enemy be turned against the enemy, in the name of Jesus.

• Anywhere that evil is planned against me, let fire fall, in the name of Jesus.

• Let every habitation of evil spirit in my town or village, receive the fire of

God and be roasted, in the name of Jesus.

• God of Elijah, answer me by fire, in the name of Jesus.

• All forces opposing my goodness, begin to rise up against one another, in the name of Jesus.

• (Put your two hands on your head:) Evil ancestral spirit, release me, in the name of Jesus.

• Every force that has ever opposed me, I release the fire of judgment upon you, in the name of Jesus.

1. Every evil force that has ever opposed, I command you to be roasted, in the name of Jesus.
