In the Bible, Moses had never been known as a songwriter, a singer or a choirmaster until God buried the Egyptians in the Red Sea. When you see the kind of miracles you never saw all your life, your hidden talents, gifts and abilities will be quickened for the services of God.
Naturally, men want to appreciate the kindness of their fellow human beings, especially when the kindness is rare. The same is true when God does rare miracles. Men would burst into new songs and there would be a higher level of willingness to serve and obey Him.
Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy
youth. Psalm 110:3.
The miracle that Moses saw at the Red Sea was strange. He saw a sea parted for the first time and the stubborn pursuers of the Israelites went down into the water in a mass burial. The natural reaction of Moses was to sing to the Lord along with the entire, assembly of Israel.
Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the LORD, and spake, saying, I will sing unto the LORD, for he hath triumphed gloriously: the horse and his rider hath he thrown into
the sea. Exodus 15:1.
STUBBORN PURSUERS
Rare miracles of God created ripple effects on his people. As they saw all their enemies buried in the sea at once, they all raised their voices in a song of praise. As all the Egyptians died in the Red Sea, so all Israel sang to God. God may allow your stubborn pursuers to multiply because He wants to destroy them at once. When He does that, He wants everybody in your family and assembly to sing praises to Him at once. There are miracles you experience for which your tongue alone cannot praise God enough.
A songwriter said, “Oh, for a thousand tongues to sing.” There are miracles that makes you feel like your tongue should suddenly multiply to praise God. Since God was not ready to multiply the tongue of Moses, He made all Israel sing
His praises. Imagine a congregation of over three million people singing to God at once. The earth must have shaken with the loud anthem of their praises. That population was very large considering the ancient time that the event took place.
A DOUBLE MIRACLE
I have been talking about the effect of God working a rare miracle. The miracle God wrought was a two-in-one miracle. It was the miracle of deliverance for the Israelites. They became safe from the hands, anger, advancement and plot of their enemies. But the deliverance did not just come alone. It came with another miracle, the miracle of destruction and mass burial for their enemies.
The ways of God are deep. They pass finding out. God can choose to destroy your enemies in a way you wouldn’t have to bother about their burial. The children of Israel would have had so much work to do if they had to kill and bury the Egyptians themselves. God would have had to expand their efforts to create a large expanse of land for the burial. It is a wonderful thing for God to determine the kind of death which your enemies deserve, their place of burial and the entire funeral arrangement.
The children of Israel were escaping on foot, but the Egyptians pursued them on horses and chariots. No footman can outrun a horse and its rider. No strength of man can withstand the speed of a chariot. But God did not bother about the technology and innovations of the Egyptians. The children of Israel were completely unfit to stand the armament of their pursuers. Nevertheless, God was on their side.
THE MIRACLE OF JUDGMENT
You are not as experienced in war as the devil. You may lack the spiritual know-how to withstand your adversaries. They have an edge over you by reason of their technologies, networking and united efforts targeted at you. However, God is laying ambush for them. It is not your battle. As the Egyptians hastened after Israel into the Red Sea and never returned, the stubborn pursuers who are after you shall be buried.
God is about to work a miracle of judgment in the camp of your enemies. This
will make the earth to shake because of your testimony. The horse may be strong and its rider may be experienced, but God is still in the business of destroying them both. Moses sang and Marian sang. Their songs had a common line of victory.
And Miriam answered them, Sing ye to the LORD, for he hath triumphed gloriously; the horse and his rider hath he thrown into
the sea. Exodus 15:21.
The songs of Moses and Marian had the same emphasis. The Lord threw the horse and the rider into the sea. The miracle of judgment upon their enemies inspired the songs. The theme of the songs was the same. You can imagine the kind of miracle that makes the children choir, the youth choir, the adult choir, the prayer warriors, the church leaders and everybody sing the same song. God is set to work and repeat ancient miracles in our days. The world is yet to know anything about the power of God.
As you read on, there are keys I want you to anchor in your spirit. When they sink into your heart, miracles will begin to erupt in your life.
No matter how crooked you have written the line of your life, God can write it straight. You can never be too bad for God. There is no level of degeneration your life can ever reach that God cannot change. If yours is the worst life or situation in the world, it is just an opportunity for God to do the rarest miracle.
If you spend more time praying than worrying, very soon, you will have nothing to worry about. Each second spent on worries can be put to better use. Your time in the presence of God is an investment you can never lose. Spend more time praying than worrying. Talk more to God about your worries. He will take over and ask you to go home with a reward of peace and miracles of divine intervention.
When God has work to do, He can make your enemies your stool. It is to the glory of God that you are faced with the devil, an enemy you
naturally don’t have power and resources to face. God has a way of disgracing the enemies. When they come against you like a mighty flood, He intervenes and gives you victory to their shame. He does that to disgrace the power of the devil. The wisdom of God is to use the weak to confound the powers and strength of the strong.
When God is set to work, sometimes He does not require your faith. At times whether you have faith or not, God goes ahead to demonstrate His power as God. At creation, God did not require the faith of any man to create the heavens and the earth. When He chose to lay the earth on great waters, He did not need anybody’s faith to activate that miracle. When He spread the sky like a curtain, He did not need the faith of any man. To avoid man ascribing God’s glory to himself, God finished the work of creation before He put man in the centre of it all. Faith or no faith, God can do the strangest of miracles.
God is sometimes silent towards us so that we may cry the more for His help to come. Nothing catches God by surprise. He does not need time to pull Himself together as though He were limited to do anything. He does not have to consider how much He has left in the account of heaven before He prospers you. He doesn’t have to consider if He has enough thunders, arrows, fires, hailstones, etc to fight or not. He is God in totality. When He allows us to cry more unto Him, watch out, He wants to surprise us with a rare miracle. He moved to deliver Israel when they were most jittery. He sent His salvation of rarest kind when Moses’ voice was loudest, calling unto Him for urgent help from above. His silence does not mean denial or neglect.
With God on your side as a Mighty, Terrible One, you can trample on satanic rage. Moses and Aaron were the two men that confronted Pharaoh, demanding the freedom of the children of Israel. Pharaoh had an army. He had assistants in royal matters. He had servants. He could just issue an order in his palace and consider it done. He ruled Egypt by words of mouth. The Egyptian taskmasters afflicted the children of Israel on the order of Pharaoh. They killed infants in the land on the order of Pharaoh. But Moses and Aaron, who didn’t have a kingdom, an army, subjects or servants, confronted him with “Thus saith the Lord.” With God
